Monitors and MemoryHey @userGGCC6ora9W
I actually have two of these in my set up. 27-inch units. They have been excellent. The image is amazing, no light bleed, very good blacks for a non-OLED monitor (it's TN), super sharp and colors are amazing. The RGBs are cool, but kind of limited to only in menu options on the monitor, still nice to have, though.
For gaming, I have no complains. Image is smooth and sharp, however for your use case, the only thing I'd be mindful of, is if your laptop can handle the QHD resolution. It can be lowered if needed of course, but lower resolution on a hi-res screen never looks as good as native (so a native FHD screen looks a bit better than a QHD used on FHD resolution). This monitor also support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, so it should always be smooth, even if FPS drops sometimes.
I do use the smart TV mode occasionally, with a remote. It's cool, and the sound from the monitor is surprisingly decent too, but personally, I wouldn't be taking it into consideration when choosing a gaming monitor.
I highly recommend it. Great monitor for the price! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Monitors and MemoryIf you have FHD display now, and set the monitor to FHD resolution, your performance should be very similar, but be aware than on a larger screen, it would definitely not looks as good. For content consumption though, you can watch in full QHD resolution and it will look beautiful. You don't have to change your monitor's resolution, just select 1080p or FHD in game settings.

Monitors and MemoryThe Vega 10 is better suited to light duty 720p use per Techpowerup
Recommended Gaming Resolutions:
- 1280x720 1366x768 1600x900
It may display a static webpage ok on a FHD monitor but, any modern gaming is beyond it's performance capabilities.
Do a web search for AMD Radeon RX Vega 10 and you'll get plenty of results about it's performance.
