Hi can someone tell me if the Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD is compatible with my Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro model number VN7-792G-70BV as I would like to upgrade to this ssd.
Acer has advised me that the Samsung SM951 512GB NVMe MZVPV512HDGL-00000 M.2 80mm SSD - is compatible but is a little older and the newer 970 EVO is at a great price at the moment and is the one I would prefer.
Any help would be great.
Just an update, I decided to go ahead and install the 970 EVO M.2 SSD and I'm pleased to say I'm glad I did.
The performance of this chip is unreal, my notebook boot time has gone from just under 2 minutes and now is 10 second boot time.
Now there is no waiting for apps to start even Microsoft word opens in a couple of seconds.
Now I'm waiting on a Samsung 860 Pro 2.5in SATA SSD 1TB I've ordered to replace my old hard drive.
I have my operating system on the 500 GB M.2 card and the 860 PRO will be for storage.
