LC27RG50 G-Sync inverse ghosting during pan/scroll

I just received my LC27RG50 monitor and while it's quite impressive in just about every regard, when trying to use G-Sync with my RTX 2070 over DisplayPort on driver 442.19 I'm having truly horrible inverse ghosting which makes it appear the monitor's brightness/sharpness grealty increases during any pan/scroll action. This issue is happening at even 150fps and doesn't start to go away until you're over 200fps. Even then the issue is still present although it's harder to notice.

On the nvidia website the monitor is listed as having a 48-240hz G-Sync range.

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/

I even tried installing the 'driver' offered by Samsung incase it somehow changed something but it's only a color profile.

From reading some reviews I know I'm not the only one experiencing this issue with this monitor. I noticed there is a 'service' USB port available so is there any chance in the future there will be a firmware update offered that would fix this? If not I'm sadly going to have to return it.

That's truly great to hear, if there's ever a firmware upgrade that fixes the issue I'll re-buy the monitor in a heartbeat; it was excellent in everyway except for that issue which really was a deal breaker.

I know the issue is related to the overdrive function; there are a couple monitors that exist with variable overdrive that don't have the G-Sync module so I'm hoping this can be a reality.

I have the exact same problem, and now I am stuck with a expensive g sync monitor and I can't even use g sync, did you ever find a fix? I would feel bad even re selling this monitor at this point to someone because of this problem.

Sadly no there is no fix for this. I actually was about to purchase the new replacement for this (The Odyssey G7 27") until some reviews pointed out it has the exact same flickering issue. I guess I'll never be buying another Samsung display again which is really upsetting because I've used Samsung displays since at least 2005.

Samsung has been working with NVidia to resolve this issue. The website https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/ is listing the necessary driver for the Odyssey G7 and G9 monitors as 'upcoming' from NVidia, which will enable the G-Sync compatibility.
