New Samsung Magician won't open

Same issue on SSD 860 EVO and WIN 10 latest release.

I revert to Magician 6.1.0 and it work.

As an FYI, that link is no longer valid.  They updated to 6.2.0.

The link works.

On the left side of the Techpowerup window under "Download" select "Show Older Versions". Select and download 6.1.0 from there. I downloaded 6.1 from there and everything works well.

I fixed it! Magician is OK; Windows has been blocking it.

What I did:

Open Windows Settings

Search for "controlled folder access"

It should be "On"

Click "Allow an app through Controlled folder access"

Click "Add an allowed app"

In the dropdown, click "Recently blocked apps"

Click the "+" beside Magician.

Click "Close"

Close Settings.

Restart Magician.

NICE!!! Mine is working now and have found my SSD is running hot :-)

I've never even looked at that setting before and will have to remember that since I see other apps blocked including LOL MS Edge however it works fine.

This may definitely work for some folks having this problem, but unfortunately it didn't for me. If you have Defender enabled this could work. I disable Defender completely and use Avira. When Realtime Protection is turned off Controlled Folder Access is disabled by default. I think some may be experiencing slighty different issues with similar symptoms. No way it's blocking Magician in my case. Great catch though .

This did not work for me either. My machine did not even have "controlled folder access" enabled.

As a test, I even removed Avira and also left Defender completely disabled. Still no dice, so I enabled Defender, turned on Controlled Folder Access (it is disabled by default), and added an exception for Samsung Magician. Unfortunately, the problem persists. Magician 6.1 works flawlessly, so I'm not sure what's happening here.
