This morning my Odyssey Ark performed an update. 1420.9... unfortunately this has now caused HDR to no longer work properly. Not even after a reset of the entire monitor. HDR is far too dark on Windows, on all consoles as well as in all streaming apps. There are no more accents, bright sources look terrible. The only way to get around this halfway is to deactivate HDR Game in Game mode under HDR Tone mapping, which means that the picture is far too bright. Before the monitor had an excellent picture with HDR, now everything is broken and that with a monitor that costs €3000. I sincerely hope this gets sorted out as soon as possible. I wonder how something like this can pass the quality controls, I'm very disappointed. And by the way, what was the update supposed to do? EDIT: Two things i noticed on top is that the UHD notification is gone and in HDR, while there are grey colours, it flickers.

Would someone officially comment on this if necessary? Wouldn't that be great if you could at least see that this problem is known and being worked on?

Since the update I have issues even getting the screen to come on. Input signal plus spinning symbol. I literally have to turn tv on and off until I can see anything. I also had to reset the entire thing after firmware update as Windows was way too dark. Resetting fixed this part for me.

Is anyone at samsung going to respond or acknowledge the problem or what? I went as far as returning my Ark and buying a new one with an older firmware, only for this **bleep** to Auto Update even when I had auto update disabled.

This is massive issue. I just got mine two days ago and I am seeing this same issue. Washed out colors and no pop when HDR is enabled. Samsung needs to fix this now!

is like a strobe light effect when watching 4k vids on youtube also right? Also it seems blurry when you see people walking around while watching a movie.

I have the same issue but on my QN90B with the 1420 update. For some reason it auto updated even though I had it turned off and the moment I started playing on my ps5 I immediately noticed the colours looked off. Everything was dark, grey and washed out there was 0 colour pop, everything looked infinitely better in SDR. Im gonna need a response from samsung soon or LG will see a new customer.

Oh, but now I'm curious if Samsung will finally get in touch. If the TVs even get the update, then more and more people will probably complain in the future.

I just don't understand why they even have a "do not auto update" feature when they are just going to force you to update. My friend told me to keep the TV offline when I bought it and to just watch my shows and movies from the PS5 but I didn't listen, feel like a **bleep** now 😞
