Bought the M7 as a one cable solution to connect a macbook.
No USB-C cable is delivered with the monitor.
The countless promotion video's all show this USB-C cable working flawless.
So I bought 1 extra 2m Apple USB-C' cables, connected it, fiddled around in all sorts of ways to get it working, but nothing makes it works.
The cable does charge the macbook, but there is no image.
I contacted SAMSUNG Benelux support and asked what USB-C cable would work and pointed out the numerous video's with pictures of this USB-C cable delivered with the box.
SAMSUNG Benelux support concludes, there is no need for a specific type of USB-C cable and the solution is to be searched by contacting Apple.
When asking why it would work elsewhere the answer was those video's are not from SAMSUNG Benelux and it might be another M7 model number was used.
Needless to say, I was baffled by this answer.
If SAMSUNG does not know what cable was used to make it work, then who can help?
How get attention to this? Where find a solution?
Like Apple is going to recommend a SAMSUNG monitor?
Clearly a one cable solution. Connect your device to the monitor with a USB-C cable and expect to have the M7 as monitor. Does this extra clarification help or is other information needed?
@TheGalaxy It obviously has at least one USB-C port. No need to go through connecting other devices. Did that. It's all about that USB-C cable. The mysterious USB-C cable that all on those video's are working to make it work. This monitor is supposed to work with a macbook with one cable through USB-C and it is not working with the USB-C cable from Apple. I would like to know why SAMSUNG has made disappear that cable from the box at Europe at least, why it is shown elsewhere as if working and why nobody can point out what USB-C cable would work while it was clearly delivered before with the cable by SAMSUNG.
Tested with another macbook (pro) , a Xiaomi phone, a Galaxy S20. All have the same behaviour. The connection is detected by the monitor. The devices are being charged through the USB-C cable, but no image on the monitor M7. It each time detects and goes in sleep mode after 60 seconds stating to activate, to power up the attached device.
