Now that PCIe is taking over SATA, why is our only option for form factor the M.2 2280 size, since devices come in so many different sizes?
I have a Dell Latitude 7285 detachable 2-in-1, which is great, but comes only with two M.2 2242 PCIe slots and it has an internal Samsung PM971 512GB drive (MZ2LZ512HMLH). A year later the only existing consumer product is the Toshiba RC100, which goes again only up to 480GB (announced but still not on sale).
In short, I've been waiting impatiently for a year now for a NVMe M.2 2242 1TB SSD and I'm not sure why Samsung does not produce a consumer EVO product, since they clearly can at this point!
Anybody has the same issue or knows if Samsung has any related plans?
