Can't figure out how to get my new 980 m.2 nvme ssd to run at full speed. I removed all other Sata hard drives except for the 850 evo my OS is installed on to rule out conflicting/shared lanes and no improvement. Both Samsung Magician and CrystalDiskMark are benching the 980 ssd at roughly 900/860MBs read/write. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have another thread open on TomsHardware with screenshots and a bit more info: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/installed-2nd-samsung-m2-ssd-a-m-2-nvme-980-and-its-speeds-a...

Hello userMoBqVL01T4,

Did the BIOS update for your z170 motherboard solve your issue? Based off of your Tom's hardware post, it looks like there was a BIOS update available for your motherboard.

BIOS update did in fact fix the issue, benched at 3554/2987MB per second after the update 🙂 I knew I forgot to update one of my threads with solved lol thanks :clinking_beer_mugs:
