Hello Samsung Community members,

Samsung has looked into certain customer inquiries about abnormalities pertaining to the 990 PRO SSD’s S.M.A.R.T.

It has been determined that these abnormalities were caused by issues with the 990 PRO SSD's firmware. Accordingly, a firmware update capable of resolving these abnormalities is being released starting on February 13, 2023.

[Your S.M.A.R.T. values will not be reset to factory settings after updating the firmware. Each SSD's actual S.M.A.R.T values will vary depending on user environments and usage conditions.]

Our warranty policy (5 years, TBW for each density) for the 990 PRO SSD is available at https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/support/warranty/.
Please contact the applicable service center if you have any questions.

The fix has been released through Samsung Magician.  It does NOT reset your health (that damage has been done) but it should prevent the further rapid drop-off in health.

It would be good to get an honest description of why this issue occurred and why it only affected some 990 Pro 2TB drives but not others.

My device has lost 8% of its life, and I have only written 2.8TB onto the 2TB drive.
What are you doing to rectify this issue?  Where do I send my drive so I can get a replacement?
