I received a prompt that there is an update to 6.2.0 for Samsung Magician. I installed it.
When trying to launch, there is a USB disconnect sound. I notice my mouse disconnects briefly and I also receive an error... "Magician has encountered an error and cannot continue. Press 'OK' to launch the application again or 'Cancel' to quit the application." (Message mostly hidden under the splash screen)
Once my mouse or smbus (whatever gets dicsonnected) reconnects, I press OK and still doesnt work. I performed a complete uninstall, rebooted, and reinstalled and still the same error.
I'm on Windows 10 v2004 b19041.508 and I have a Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII WiFi w/ 3950x
My wife's computer with same OS and AsRock Z390 Taichi updated and works fine.
Reverting back to Samsung Magician v6.1 works fine.
I have a Samsung 960 Pro 2TB as a data drive on Firmware 4B6QCXP7.
and a Samsung 860 EVO 4TB with firmware RVT04B6Q
My OS drive is a Sabrent Rocket 2TB PCIE4.0
Wife is using a 2TB 970 EVO as OS drive and a 2TB 850 EVO for data.
Thanks for any insight on this!
Yep - mine is not responding too with my EVO 970 - click on the icon and nowt happens>
I uninstalled, downloaded 6.1 and installed but still nothing when clicking on the icon, or from Start menu.
I guess fro some reason it is not recognising the 970 Nvme drive.
Ditto, same issue.
I spent some time trying to determine the issue, but no luck.
I first did the Update from the application. Then downloaded the lastest and the same result. Someone suggested unzipping the download from the desktop and install from the Desktop vs. the Downloads folder. That did not work either.
There is a log folder in the install directory of the application, and looks like a SCSI error. I wanted to revert to the previous version, but I overwrote the previous version when I downloaded it.
