Monitors and MemoryI Have recently purchased a QA55Q80AAWXXY. Works great.
I Have an external hard drive. It has been formatted to exfat on my laptop. When I plug it into the TV, I get the option to brouse. When I hit pause- I can format it and then do live pause this time. If I then go back to live TV and wait, say 10mins or turn the TV off and on again the pause button does not work. I got it to work again by going into source, selecting the external drive just purely to look at its folders, then returning to live TV and then it worked- however this fix is sporadic. Mostly the pause does not work- when it does timeshift works fine. I'm not sure if, if not used immediately from plugging in the TV stops autodetecting the devise as where it should store timeshift. It also comes up as 3.0 so I assume means USB 3.0??
It is probably 5 years old the drive. Have tried a 500gb and 1 TB drive with the same result- can pause but after 15mins or less TV no longer seems to identify the hard drive as to where it should store timeshift recording

Monitors and MemorySome have internal firmware that spins down the drive to save energy (sleep mode) and that would unmount the drive from TV. Connect SSD module and test

Monitors and MemoryTechnically, the TV should not unmount the drive.
