Whenever I fill out the data to request service for my poor performing 970evo plus I always get the same error "An error occurred while creating your request. Please try again or call us at 1-800-SAMSUNG." I've tried multiple things and wonder if anyone can solve it before I call them?

I wonder if this is a problem specific to their expensive SSDs. I spent $400 on a 980 Pro 2TB (that doesn't work properly), in part because the Samsung SSDs were supposed to be great and I figured for the premium price I'd at least get good warranty service.

So I create a Samsung account for this purpose and now I can't create an RMA request due to this error. I called and they finally created a ticket for me. Receive the email to complete their onerous form, and it has a link in it I can use to edit the ticket... which doesn't work. When I click on it it says says the ticket doesn't exist. I think, fine, I can complete their form by replying to the email instead.

But make sure you're quick, because I didn't complete it within 24 hours, so they happily deleted the ticket and sent me an email notifying me of that. Why didn't I complete it right away? Because along with answering a dozen questions and providing screenshots of the errors in Samsung Magician as well as a .pdf of the invoice, they also ask you to attach a picture of the label on the device itself which meant I have to open up my computer to take a picture.

Why the run-around? The device is obviously in-warranty due to the serial # and they know it. None of these extra pieces of information matter at all and they know it.

All of this to say it seems pretty clear to me their goal is to make it as difficult as possible for customers to complete a simple warranty request on one of these SSDs.

What value is a 5yr warranty if I can't actually use it? Zero.

Last Samsung SSD I'll ever buy, that's for sure. And I won't buy any more of your TVs either. Nice job guys!

What is it about your 980 Pro that isn't working properly?

looks like it is time for class action.  They are already voiding warranty from what I here if the label is removed.  That is illegal in the US.  I have been having the error for months now.  I called in and he said the request was all set up yet nothing in the email.  Seems like Samsung is intentionally making it impossible to file a warranty claim for their defective products.  Maybe because of the chip shortage?

Same issue, 1/29/22. Had an 870 EVO SATA 2.5" SSD 500GB fail after less than 7 months of moderate use. Purchased in February of 2021, the drive began to fail in August. Samsung has by far the worst hours I've ever seen, and when I do call them I never get put through to an actual agent. What point is a 5-Year service warranty if I am unable to file a service request?
