I bought a new Samsung S22F350 monitor for my father's Windows 7 PC.
The only power switch we see is the JOG Button hidden on the back of the display.
We see that it can be used for a lot of setup functions, but we wonder if we have to use it for powering the monitor on and off.
Because it's hidden and does not enable one-click on and off, we assume you don't mean for us to use it most of the time.
Can we leave the monitor "on" all the time, and set it up so that it goes to sleep when the PC is turned off and wakes up when the PC is turned on?
Is this the way it works with factory default settings?
If we do this, will the monitor use much power while it sleeps?

I have heard back from our product engineers. As long as you're using the PC input (VGA) the unit will go into a standby state. If you're using HDMI connection, it does not have this option.

Hello! In the United States, this model is only available for pre-order. May I please have you confirm where it was purchased? Thank you.

I purchased my monitor on May 16, 2016 at the Staples store in Amherst, NH.

There was some confusion at the store, too.
Staples advertised a Samsung 22-inch monitor on sale for $99.99, usually $129.99.
A store clerk climbed a ladder to get me the monitor and confirmed it was $99.99.
The cashier rang it up and it said $129.99.
When I questioned that, the store manager came over, authorized the lower price, and said I was getting a newer model.

Even if this is a "pre-order model" I think the instructions could be more clear about how to turn it on.
I've been working with PCs and monitors since 1984, and I have never seen one without a simple on-off switch, which is why I ask my questions.
What I hope is that your engineers designed the display so that we don't have to turn it off or on, and that it automatically goes to sleep or wakes up.
I also hope that its sleep mode is energy-efficient.

After consulting the user’s manual, the only power button located on the unit would be the jog switch located on the back. I do know that the unit is energy efficient, but as for the other question you have. Due to this being such a newer model I will consult our Product engineers to make sure we give you the perfect answer. I’ll follow up as soon as I have more information.

Thank you for your helpful response!

To confirm, your engineers indicate that when I use the analog signal cable to the RGB IN connector on the monitor, the S22F350 will go to "power-saving mode" automatically when I power off the PC or choose sleep/hibernate mode for the PC.
I assume that "power-saving mode" uses less than 0.3W based on specifications I found on one vendor's website:
Power Consumption (typical)     25 W max
Power Consumption (Standby)     < 0.3 W

This is a good solution for our needs, as we are using an analog signal cable.
If we planned to use an HDMI cable, which you said does not support this automatic power-saving mode, I would return the monitor to the store and buy a different one.
Unless I'm missing something, it takes multiple clicks and jogs with the JOG button to power off the monitor, and I don't think that design promises the long life I expect that a simple on/off power button provides.

This is correct. As for the jog button, please let us know if you ever have any issues with this. Thank you. ^Drew

my monitor is now on constantly with the blue light flickering in the right hand corner, and the Monitor is extremely warm, so I really would like to turn it off, as all monitors have been capable of being since their invention, but apparently not now for Samsung.

do I have to unplug the monitor everytime I finish the use ?

I have a Samsung T22C350ND which we've used as a monitor for our laptop since purchase in 2014.  We keep the laptop lid closed and to 'wake-up' the monitor we depress the JOG switch and then tap on the wireless keyboard which then wakes up the screen on the monitor.

Yesterday the JOG switch light will not stay lit, I power cycled the monitor and the light comes on briefly and then darkens.

Is this an issue with the JOG switch being worn out after 3 years of use?  Or perhaps the power supply for the monitor?

Thank you for any assistance.
