There is a solution ! Actually there's more than one!
First, galaxy store dose not need those permission! And the way to fix it is to re-develope that update! But I understand by saying that your just trying to save your job!
THATS MY BEST SOLUTION!
Here is my bottom line; I will never grant those kind of permissions to anyone!
So if I cannot update my Samsung apps unless I do, and it effects my use of those apps! Well then I will scrap this s7 and purchase a iPhone! And I will never purchase any Samsung android device again!
SAMSUNG HAS GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME!
I have been complaining about this for two years. I have an s8 without updates for the reason that allowing access to my contactss violates their privacy and rights. It puts me at risk, not Samsung, as I would be the one supplying gheir information. I see no other explanation other than marketing.
I have yet to receive a plausable explanation.
Most recently, Smart Things demands to manage and control my phone in order to use certain basic functions..even though I have no Smart Things.
I never bother trying to access the Galaxy Apps store because of the required access to my contacts. If any app that doesn't actually need my contacts to function requires them to access the app, I move on to another app or do without.
I have been a Samsung customer since the first Galaxy note product. I feel that access to all of my 500 contacts is unessesary in order for Samsung app store to open. Since I refuse to give access to my personal and business contacts Samsung is basically disabling many good features on this phone. I am seriously considering the move to an Iphone. Since I have the Ipad pro the transition is a no brainer. I would have stayed with Samsung and even upgraded to the Note 20 plus if Samsung had given me the option to opt out of sharing my private contact list with them.
I have software updates that I cannot install because I cannot access the Galaxy Store.
I will not approve permissions to Contacts on my phone. Shame on you for even asking.
This weakens the value of my Samsung phone and makes me likely to avoid the brand.
I couldn't agree more, I'm terribly disappointed in Samsung. Explain to me why you need access to my contacts so I can use the Galaxy Store app? What data are you mining on my phone ?
