Note 9 Magnetic sensor

After updating to Android 9, my Galaxy note 9's magnetic sensor stopped working properly.

If it is not calibrated, the compass is smooth, but shifted about 90 degrees. After calibration, the compass points to one direction only, no matter where you point your phone!

I have tried all the available tools and apps, restet the phone, checked with Samsung and att&t, no luck!

I have checked another note 9 with the new update, it has exact same issues! Note 9 witout android 9 works fine.

My phone itself was OK before the update.

Anyone can help please??

Does this occur when the device is placed into safe mode?

So, I talked on the phone and chatted with Samsung tech.

They were two types:

1- some were not knolwedgable and they did not know anything, and they keep repeating the exact same words again and again.

2- Couple of them acknowleded the issue and they say, Samsung is working on it.

Samsung is very bad. I used to love Samsung products, I will have to check something else.

It became a big company and it does not care about its costumers anymore!

 Well safe mode disables all apps!

The compass app that came with the phone acts exactly as in full mode, it does not work properly in safe mode.

I have astronomy apps, they were all OK before the update, they now all point west and do not know directions!

Skyportal is one of them.

This is a known issue for Note 9 users and not so much for S9. I believe the problem had been escalated to the specialist for solution.
