Random Ad Pop ups

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Ever since the latest update, the One UI had been giving me random ads on my screen regardless of what I'm doing. It's become very overwhelming & I would like a way to make them stop

The ads that you are referring to are being caused by a 3rd party app I would suggest trying to remember what apps was downloaded before they started popping up you can also check the apps running in device care and select the battery

If you go into settings and scroll down to device care and select the battery you will see a list of apps that have been running then click on the battery usage button and check there

Give this a try and see if your still getting the popups

Samsung Galaxy Note9 - Restart in Safe Mode

Safe Mode puts your phone in a diagnostic state (returned to default settings) so you can determine if a third-party app is causing your device to freeze, reset or run slow.

An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.

  1. Press and hold the Power button (right edge of the phone) until the 'Power off' prompt appears then release.
    Power off options
  2. Touch and hold Power off until the Safe mode prompt appears then release.
  3. To confirm, tap Safe mode.
Note The process may take up to 45 seconds to complete.
Note Upon reboot, "Safe mode" appears in the lower-left of the unlock/home screen.
    Restart in Safe Mode
  4. With Safe Mode enabled, test device and app functionality.

I would suggest resetting it to factory default since it's an app you have likely installed or have permission to and that may be malicious. Rather have you guys be safe than not.

That's all that I know it could be is a 3rd party app that was installed gotta go through the apps running and find which one it is if you do a full reset as soon as you log into Google it will automatically start downloading the apps unless you tell it not to install the downloaded apps
