my note 9 is giving me SOT of 3hr only, mainly the battery drains on standby, my usage involves WhatsApp, emails and calling although wifi, location and cellular data is always on.
Hi, I have been experiencing same issue after updating to One UI in my S9+, I tried many solutions from the web, but noen of them worked. So what I did is just backed up my data and factory reset my phone, and after taht everything is back to normal--my phone is back to life again with same battery history usage as usual....So what I realised the problem is, that imagine a 1960s car which you put a new set of All terrain tires, but no balance them at all, the car wont be as good as before, in fact will be worst than prior to install the new tires. After you balence the tires, the car should run smothly as new, the same happens with the phone, after the new operating system update, you need to Reset the phone as factory new, then everything will be alright. Hope it helps your problem.
That's just stupid! Every time I get a new set of wheels I don't need to reinstall all my apps, I don't need to reconfirm and verify again all my banking apps, I don't need to dl my contacts again and lose the ones I forgot to save! Do you know how much of a hassle it is now to get a banking app working on a new device?
My battery drain is ridiculous since Android 10 UI 2.0... It was fine before now I go from 100 per cent to 10 per cent in just 8 hours with light usage. Before the update I easily managed a whole waking day and more. Don't understand why they have to mess things up on a new update, surely they can't just test it one phone and if it's OK they roll it out. Idiots!
Perhaps my solution will resolve your battery drainage. Under settings - gotto Device Care, -> Click on battery, -> Click on battery usage, -> Click on the bar graph (day) that shows the highest battery usage. You should see a list of apps below in order of usage. Now gotto apps, find the app you identified that is using a lot of power. Click on the the app, -> turn off "Allow background activity". What I've leaned is even though you close some applications, they still run in the background. Hope this helps!
Battery drain is on purpose by Samsung. After a new flagship is announced you will receive updates involving the reduction of capacity. This is purely done to move customers to newer versions. They removed the ability to turn off updates so there is basically nothing you can do about it... just live with it.
Okay, I want to share my experience with my Note 9 battery drain.. I bought this from a friend and has a horrible battery.. I searched everywhere but just can't find the answer, this thread says disable McAfee, but McAfee is never turned on on my Note 9, so I will give my tips here for battery improvements.. Forget about power mode, it doesn't work..
1. Maybe diasbling McAfee works, so disable McAfee in the Settings -> Device Care -> Security
2. Disable always listening Bixby, go to Bixby -> Settings -> Automatic Listening swith to never and Voice wake-up to Off. (This will guarantee 30% improvement of your battery)
3. Disable Facebook using Greenify (you can use other apps, I only know this). Buy the donation pack so you can greenify hidden system apps. Greenify Facebook in the hidden system app, you just need to do it once and they never turns on again. Disable 4 Facebook hidden system app (This will guarantee another 30% improvement of the battery life)
4. (Optional) Greenify other apps that you don't think they need to run in the background
I tested each steps for a week then jumping to another steps to see the difference, I really can feel the difference.. I'm always searching new ways to improve battery, give out more tips when I found new ones, peace,
Download thr Power battery app on Google Play store and enable all permissions. Went from having 12 hrs of battery time, to 31 hrs on average it is a blessing and helps keep the phone clean and cool
For some odd reason At&t called me to ask if I have been having internet connection problems in my area. Long story short I told them about the battery drain issue. They ran some tests and said it had to be a bad battery that was causing the drain. They overnighted me a new phone. I made a new gmail when booting up this phone and didn't just re-upload everything from the previous one. The battery still drains fast. I sat both phone next to each other. With no activity my old one dropped almost 30% in 2 hours. The new one only 17%. I have currently had the phone off the charger for 2 hours right now and its dropped 11%. Better than before but no where near what they say. I have it in power save mode, I have the always on Display off. I have refarined from downloading any social media apps. I think it was some major false advertising saying the battery lasts as long as it does, which is the only reason I chose this phone. But at least its not going down as fast as before.
