Screen semi-unresponsive

My Note 9 screen will stop responding when I am busy swiping through social media or even text messages. This only lasts for a few seconds. The screen becomes completely unresponsive for a few seconds. It will then start working again for less than a minute before it starts with the same issue.

I tried the volume down and power button restart option. I cleared my cache memory. Nothing works.

Re: Screen semi-unresponsive

Just to clarify, did you wipe the cache partition on your device?

Yes I did, but perhaps explain how you recommend I do it so I can be sure I did it correctly? @SamsungAdam

Re: Screen semi-unresponsive

To wipe the device cache partition on the Note 9:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. An 'Installing system update' message will show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Re: Screen semi-unresponsive

Just to be sure, I will not lose any of my data, besides the cache data? @LongHiker

Re: Screen semi-unresponsive

@userkp48vrP5Wr Correct, only the temporary cache data will be erased. Your user data and apps will not be erased.
