Adaptive brightness too dim

JUMP TO SOLUTION

I have had my Note 10+ for a couple of months now and from day 1 adaptive brightness has been dimming the screen too much. I know that it is supposed to learn based on manually changing the brightness, but I must turn up the brightness several times a day, every day.

I was hoping that the Android 10 update would fix the issue, but nothing has changed.

Is there any way to reset adaptive brightness or get it working properly?

It was happening to my phone and tbh I had to do a factory reset and it started to work properly. Let me know if it works.

I have a Note 8 that had the same issue one updated to Android 9.0.

Don't factory reset! That's way too extreme for a simple dimming bug.

Follow these steps in the link below. It worked for me.
