Side key for incoming calls, Note 10+

On my galaxy note 10+, what happens when I press the side key while the phone is ringing?  Does it send the call to voicemail?

To my knowledge it just silences the ring/vibrating. Eventually the call would go to voicemail, but to immediately send it to voicemail you should hit the red button on the screen.
