Is there a way to adjust height and width of an image with built-in Samsung photo editor?

@shahn You can crop the photo in the Gallery.

  1. In the Gallery click on the photo.
  2. Click the pencil icon
  3. Grab a corner and drag to crop. You can do it from any corner.

I was trying to adjust the size without cropping the picture. In another words, I was trying to change the aspect ratio of that picture.

As long as you're on version 3.1.10.39, open picture, click on the 3 dots, select resize and choose pre-defined aspect ratio you want. No option to input ratio you want like on desktop. This is for stocked gallery app. Others may allow you to enter w/h you want.

BTW, you have to be in edit mode.

This option doesn't change the height or width (aspect ratio) of a picture. It only changes the MB size needed for a picture.

Numbers in parentheses is height and width). Again, default but some option exist without cropping. Changing aspect ratio reduces or increases the size of the image file without cropping it.

It sounds like you need to use a desktop photo editor like Windows Photo or Paint. Windows Photo has several different aspect ratios to choose from such as 4:3 or 16:9 plus other select sizes. All of them will crop your photo to fit the frame because the size and width is locked. The only other choice is Windows Paint Resize Photo where you can unlock the height and width to change it. The downside is that the photo will be skewed. Digital photos are always sized in pixels or percent.

@LindaK20 Just FYI, the Gallery also has preset ratios that you can select for cropping.

  1. Click the pencil icon
  2. Click the icon with the word "Free" in the box. Screenshot_20230111_125100_Photo Editor.jpg

  3. It will show you a list of ratios that you can select. You can even drag the list to the left for even more ratios. Screenshot_20230111_125126_Photo Editor.jpg
