Can certain contacts still call and text while phone is on silent or on DND?

I saw a post on social media stating you can have your phone on silent or DND & can still receive calls or texts from certain people you choose from in your contacts. I chatted with a Samsung Pro & was told this was not an option...anyone know or has anyone been able to do this???

Yes you can do that. 

1. Open Settings
2. Click Notifications
3. Click Do not disturb
4. Click Allow exceptions
5. Click "Calls from" and select the option that you want to use. 
6. You can also click "Messages from" and select the option that you want to use.

Same thing happened. Truly disappointed with samgsungs quality. Its trash from what it once was
