Can't remove media controls from lock screen after One UI 3.0 update

Just what the title says...on my Note 20 Ultra, I can't remove the media player controls from my lock screen no matter what I do.  I've gone through every setting, including the new media/devices area (where, in the "media" settings, the "use while phone is locked" button is turned OFF)...and I just can't get the stupid thing to go away.  Every time I'm listening to something, the controls pop up right in the middle of my lock screen.

I really hate this...I'm hoping it's a bug and not a feature.  I don't want anything on my lock screen except the clock.  Please help!

One of the features of One UI 3 is that it lets you get information from widgets directly from the lock-screen or Always-on-Display screen. Just tap on the lock-screen clock or double tap on the Always-on display clock and swipe down to check music, digital wellbeing, and other widgets. You can enable and disable these widgets from Settings >> Lockscreen >> Widgets.

Seriously? Thanks for your reply but...we CAN'T disable the widget. It still appears even when turned off. That's the entire problem!

Same problem here, but I'm not sure this is about widgets selected in Lockscreen>Widgets preferences, those you need tapping on clock to see it. No, the problem is about regular notifications you see immediatly. All notifications from a player are now displayed as a very basic notification design without specific apps customisation or expanded part. When several player was in use, a swipe allowed to see from one to another, not now, you can see only one player. And, the worste for me, my podcast player displays fastforward and rewind buttons, they now gone for next/previous track buttons. I can't navigate the podcast any more ...

Not being able to turn off the media controls on the lock screen, might be the stupidest decision every. How in the absolute "F" did anyone have this for one whole day and approve this!? "Hey look, my music randomly closes or changes songs because something in my bag was close enough to a finger and did it. YAY! WHAT A GREAT FEATURE" FIX. THIS.
