My Samsung galaxy note 20 is sending multiple of the same message I am texting in. Its happening almost every text I send. I contacted support and reset connection settings, cleared my messages cache, and restarted my phone. It still is doing it and im really frustrated because it's annoying the people I am texting since they keep getting 2 or 3 of the same text.

Update: I turned off advanced messaging and I think it fixed it but I dont want to keep it off. Please keep me updated in the comment section about this! I'll keep updating this regularly!

As text messaging is a carrier feature, I would recommend reaching out to your carrier for further assistance with duplicate messaging.

My Samsung S20+ 5G using default stock Samsung messages app is doing the same thing. Not every time I send a text, but a lot of times. I send a text and it spins then sends it, then duplicates it again to the people I am texting. I am on an AT&T network. I don't want to have to factory reset, so if someone knows the fix for this, then please let me know.

This definitely sounds like an AT&T issue. I'm wondering if they are working on their towers in various areas. When I first got my phone I had zero signal even though it read I did. I lived right next to a 5G tower as well which was funny. After a while all was fixed though so I knew it was an issue with them and not the phone itself

I think I found the issue. It's the RCS which for Samsung messages app is advanced messaging. If this is on, you can send larger files, and if someone else has theirs on you can see them typing and or read the message. It is messing up right now. Started happening after last system update. So, select the 3 dots in top right, select settings, advanced messaging, turn off. You will notice less time spinning to send your message, and no more duplicate texts will be sent.

Please try turning off the advanced messaging and let me know if that worked for you as well. I have reported this issue to Samsung.

turning that off will not allow me to text in groupchats or send or receive pictures.

I don't understand why turning it off would disable your group chats or send and receive pictures. Advanced messaging is an RCS feature. It enhances messaging above standard SMS. Like larger files and pics, and basically turning texting into full chat where you can see people typing and or if the message was read. Turning it off until the issue is fixed will not keep you from texting single or groups. All I know is, turning it off the text goes faster instead of spinning longer and causing duplicate texts. Since I have turned mine off the day I wrote that above, no one is getting duplicate texts now.

This is assuming you are using the stock Samsung messages app. I used to use Google messages for this RCS feature, but it messed up too, and people were not getting my texts. So I went back to stock.

Mine as well I can not receive pictures with this turned off. All this has happened with the last update

Most of my friends are on iPhone so this did not apply to me at all. I turned it off anyway to test it but it did nothing to fix the issue.
