Message app not giving notifications

I am using the standard messaging app on my Note 20 Ultra but it will not give any new message notification/sound no matter what I do? Tried switching to the Verizon Message Plus and that one won't allow me to turn off the "read receipt". SO frustrated!

... I totally understand where you're coming from... I'm not having problems with my phone I don't think getting notifications but I tell you, I never get notifications from Facebook or messenger Instagram or SnapChat.. sometimes Snapchat but never on the other ones... I'm not sure what the problem is but I know it's very frustrating because you'll be waiting for somebody to post you and they posted you an hour ago and you've got 10 new notifications... just wanted to let you know you're not alone in that battle! 💯💪
