disable facebook messanger auto sync notification

I recently purchased the galaxy note 20 ultra. I have facebook messanger installed but auto syncing of my phone contacts is disabled. Now when i open my phone app I get a system notification trying to get me to sync my phone contacts with facebook messenger. I dont want to sync my phone contacts with facebook and i wamt to stop getting the notification to sync 10 times a day. How do i disable this?

Check in messenger notification settings to see if there is a specific toggle for contact syncing. Next time it comes up, swipe right slowly without dismissing it and select the settings icon to the left to see if it allows you to turn it off. I don't have messenger so can't try to replicate the issue. You may also have to long press to get to notification settings. Sorry
