Cannot send or recieve emojis (Change input mode)

I am having problems with sending emojis on my note 8. Keep getting a dialog when I try to send to change input method to automatic by pressing settings in said dialog. When I press settings, I am brought to dead end, with no options to change input mode to automatic. Any insight on this issue would be appreciated.

 

My note 8 is At&t unlocked, with current Android pie update & oneui home. Samsung keyboard is default keyboard.

@amanda95 All is good on my end now. Dropped Straight Talk due to their inadequacy to address my issue. Went to At&t prepaid & everything is now working as it should & then some. Straight Talk needs to iron out their issues with their network. Their APN system & provisioning of BYOD sims is flawed. IMS is required to send Emojis, from what info I could gather & come to a conclusion about, & they seem to not care about it. Thank you guys for all of your help. Maybe if word gets spread, ST will do something to fix the stability & dependability of their rented networks.

Yes, I am using the stock Samsung messages app @SamsungQue

Have you tried clearing the cache of the stock messaging application and restarting the device?

Settings>Applications>Messages>Storage>Clear Cache & Restart your device?

I have already cleared cache this way & restarted device, to no avail. I have e booted my phone into recovery mode & have cleared cache partition, to no avail. I have uninstalled Samsung keyboard updates, re-updated, & reset my keyboard data, to no avail. I have even gone as far as clearing cache in all of my apps, to no avail. I have recently done a factory reset on my phone, to start fresh. Before doing this reset, my emojis worked, sending & receiving. This issue started after my factory reset. I have searched high & low for a way to access my input mode & can not find any such menu to set to automatic, @SamsungZell

I have even attempted to see if my phone's software had needed an update or if any of my apps need an update, to no avail. I am at a loss of what to do. All I can figure is something in my stock messages is bugged or my Samsung stock keyboard is bugged, or both.

Honestly the only option we have right now is having the device sent into us to be evaluated by a certified repair technician. We've escalated the issue to our specialists but have no word on an ETA for a fix.

@amanda95 I was honestly thinking it was going to be an issue with carrier settings, because I'm using straight talks at&t network. Makes more sense than it being a hardware issue on a flawless used phone. Had a previous, similar issue with my Verizon note 5 on straight talk Verizon towers. Going to try & get a non working at&t sim & try. Will update if it works. Thank you for your help.
