Dual SIM SM-N950F will not update Android version

Hi all,

I was hoping you could help me with a small issue.

I have a Note8 Dual SIM, SM-N950F, for over an year now, but it still has not upgraded its firmware.

Whenever i do a manual check on the software version, i am getting the same message, that the latest updates have been installed and the security patch level date is 1 August 2018.

This is an unlocked phone, which i am using in Ireland at the moment.

Is there not an update available for this phone?

Thank you,

What it is is that your phone is out of date witch means that your phone isn't in the system to the point were you can buy it in stores so that's why theres no update available for your phone

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a way a can make my phone "up to date" so it can update automatically?

Alterantively, can i manually update to Android 9 (ie using Odin and downloaded firmware)?!

Thanks again.

Could it be the SIM card itself?

i've had several SIM cards that i've been using, on different networks too.

One of them was even from another country.

You need samfirm to down load the updated firmware. Xda developers should have the complete instructions and needed files to complete the task at hand.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand this is for a manual upgrade solution.

In this case, are there chances i can find firmware that it is not operator branded (ie. not by Vodafone...)

Thank you,
