Re: How to Change the Default Contacts App

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Clearly, you DONT hear.  They don't want to use Samsung contacts and want to use Google contacts app as the default.  Maybe you were trying to be funny.

Also sick of the Samsung forced apps.   Next gen Google pixel will be my new phone hw.  No more bixby bloatware.

Re: How to Change the Default Contacts App

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Update: Good news...if you download and install the Google Contacts app (make sure it's the one published by Google) it has the ability to see and move your Samsung contacts into your Google account.

Well, if the phone paid attention to your choices, that might work. But since Samsung chooses to ignore our choices... for example, open a Card from Text Messages and save it. You have no choice of where to save it regardless of your preferred default location. It's going to Samsung contacts...where it is, by the way, safely kept from all efforts to put it elsewhere. All options to move, transfer, or import don't see all the available storage choices. There is not a function other than typing the information in by hand to easily move items in the Samsung account to Google.
