Thanks to everyone in Samsung community, my note 8 had this issue after November security update beside irise scanner and auto rotate not working , yesterday I downloaded and installed December security update the irise scanner is working again but tow minutes later I made a phone call and thw proximity sensor stoped working again pluse auto rotate not functioning at all
Please is it software problem and does Android P with Samsung new UI going to solve this problem

"Let's try some troubleshooting, can you attempt to clear your device's cache?
1. Power off your device
2. Power it back on by holding down the Volume Up, Home/Bixby, and Power keys.
3. When you see the Android laying down, wait for 30 seconds until it boots into the Recovery Menu.
4. From here, use the volume up/down keys to highlight "Wipe Cache partition" and select it with the power key"
Tried this, and even had my phone total factory reset after this didn't work. If Samsung doesn't work on this issue may be we all should go to the media and make a buzz. Samsung's lack of concern for customer's issues caused by its technology could be as disastrous as that of Note 7 battery.
I am also having this issue with the proximity sensor. I updated to Oreo a few weeks back and now I have this too.

Clearing the cache data as instructed above worked for me.
Hi, I have started using Samsung Note 8 for just couple of months. The proximity sensor has started being non-functional for the last few days.
