Note8Hey everyone.
So I came from a Note 5 and I used the default "messages" app and when I found find a funny GIF I would send a friend a text by loading up the pictures icon and finding The gif and hitting send. The animations would send and would be received in normal time.
Since I've had the Note 8, as soon as I attach any size gif or even make my own GIF using handwriting (live message), it speeds up the animation to hyperspeed and myself and the recipient can barely tell what's going on as it's sped up so fast?
Anyone else have this issue?

Note8Does this occur in Safe Mode? Also, give this a try.

Note8This doesn't work, it's been a year. This is unacceptable.

Note8This is not an issue that can be fixed. Carriers force image and gif resizing to ensure that you can't bump someone else over their data limit against their will. Ever notice that the Sansung keyboard gif search results kind of suck? That's because they are limiting the search to show results under 1MB (carriers differ, but this is AT&T's MMS limit). Ever notice that iPhone users don't seem to have this issue? That's because iMessage doesn't use SMS/MMS when sending to another iMessage user, it uses WiFi, mobile phone Internet access, or other forms of Internet access (look up OTT). If you pay really close attention, you'll notice that when on an iPhone with nothing but cellular data, similar issues do occur. This can only (successfully) be cured either by carriers bumping the limit to maybe 5MB (because these days 1MB is pretty small), or Android (not Samsung) bakes their own OTT service into their next pie. It really can't just be an OTT app, getting everyone on the same app is impossible. It needs to sit at the OS level on something as big (bigger) than Apple's phone list. If they did this, I don't see why they also couldn't find a way to be friends and send each other gifs (see what I did there? I'm a genius).

Note8Great info... HOWEVER.. it worked just fine on my Note 3 and my Note 5 and I've never had any issues. The girlfriends Google Pixel works just fine as well.
There is something about the Note 8 that doesnt work and we are trying to fix it
