After the update to Android 9/Samsung one UI, my phone screen is not turning off during call. This is happening irrespective of whether I put it next to my face or use head phones. When I press the lock key during the call the phone locks and the screen shows the on going call. During call the screen brightness changes from dim to normal mode but never off and it is not even turned off when I put it next to my ear, because of this my phone battery is dropping by 30-40% every hour I am on call.
Phone Model : SM-N950U.
Android Verion: 9
One Ui version: 1.0
Baseband version: N950USQU5DSC1
Kernel version: 4.4.153-15480805
Build number: PPR1.180610.011.N950USQU5DSC1
Android security patch level: March 1, 2019.
Here are the few things I have tried:
I tried it in safe mode and it is working fine there, the screen is getting turned off.
Here are few of the apps that I have that have permission to access phone:
AT&T Hot Spot
AT&T Remote Support
AT&T smart Wi-Fi
AT&T call protect
Galaxy watch plugin
Google play services
Google play ystore
Mobile services Manager
Samsung experience service
Setup and transfer
Visual voice mail
I have cleared cache from all of them and tried and it is still not working. Any help is appreciated.
I would recommend backing up the phone and factory resetting it. This will clear out any corrupt files and allow the update to stabilize. If this does not correct the issue, service would be required.
