It appears a recent update has caused a situation that's causing applications to crash. As soon as we were made aware of the situation, we have jumped on this and was able to find a resolution.
These Steps should do the trick.
- Go To Settings
- Tap "Apps"
- look for "Android System Web View"
- Select "Uninstall Updates"
If you do not see an uninstall option please try uninstalling the app from the Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.webview
You can also Uninstall Chrome Updates, if needed, this seems to be a resolution as well if you do not see an option on WebView.

After updating ASW, my phone pretty much went haywire. I then did a reboot and only THEN I was notified about the security update; for which I was unable to install because the phone was in complete chaos.
After uninstalling ASW, I able to update the security patch.
so in my case, the security patch could not have been the cause....
hope that makes sense!
