Auto Focus

Hi, my A40 has suddenly decided it wont auto focus now in the standard camera. I have tried safe mode, clearing the cashe, checking the mega cam, but nothing works. I had this issue previously many years ago and was told it was a software issue.. if it is that again how do I resolve it?
