I got a notification that I needed to update my phone's OS. I did what I usually do, opened the proper screen and pressed Update Core OS, and a message popped up that Ineeded to log into Google Play Services to proceed. What the bloody blazes?

I can't! I try following directions, and I end up staring at this icon trapped in a never-ending loop that never finished whatever the blazes it's supposed to be doing, and all the directions for getting around this problem are pure bullcrap.

Before, restarting the phome solved the problem. Now it doesn't.

If someone can't tell me how to solve this absurd garbage, I shall never again update my OS. The guys that write this code are complete congenital idiots (I can say that, because I'm a programmer).

@gremlinkurst "...and pressed Update Core OS..."

Sorry but that does not sound like a real OS update. The usual prompt just says "Install now".

It sounds like you were tricked by a spammer into clicking into some malware.

"...and a message popped up that Ineeded to log into Google Play Services to proceed..."

This is another message which does not appear during a real Samsung OS upgrade.
