We did get some reports in from our other thread where folks have said that taking the battery out for a few moments and then restarting the device before attempting to charge has solved the problem. If you've tried this and are still not able to charge your device above 91% please send me a PM with the following information:

7) Where you currently use your device (region wise)?
my j7 did the same thing. then I noticed that the location services had been set to extreme. changed it to low and battery lasted longer. the update changes all settings without telling you.
Go to settings > apps > Google play services > storage > manage storage > CLEAR ALL DATA, restart phone and you are done everything will be normal as before, I was so frustrated of this problem a few days ago, even bought a new battery but nothing changed, called customer support and they asked me to reset my device would solve the problem but I didn't reset my device got lots of important data all I did was reset Google play services app storage everything is fine now even tested the old battery and it is working fine, just wasted my money by buying the new battery
Having the same problem. The software update occured a couple of days ago and now the battery can´t stand 3 hours when i had it running for the whole day. Tried to reduce the screen glow and other settings but its still beeing drainned.
Cant understand why this is happening nor do i know if i can trust in samsung in my next purchase.
So my Samsung J7 is less than 3 months old and has been working fine, until the last update that I allowed to install overnight and now the battery drains even while plugged into my CLA all day. Can I reset the phone back to the it's factory settings? Aind if so, will I lose my contact information and everything else on my phone?
