Internal storage filling up

Got a micro sd card installed onto my Samsung Galaxy A then transferred all apps onto it.  To verify, I opened "settings", "battery and device care", "storage".

Says 28/32 gb used, and apps are using 18 gb of that 28.  So opened "apps" and all those apps that should be on the micro sd card are still saying they are using internal storage, which is eating up 12 of those gb.  How do I fix that problem since I get a popup occasionally saying too much storage space used, or is there some other error in the code?

it seems you will have to manually move each eligible app over to the SD card, I say eligible because some apps may or may not be able to transfer over due to their manifest values or requirements to be on internal storage

32GB doesn't really cut it any more for basic storage. I would presume that most of the apps on your phone are the pre-installed apps. Which most cannot be moved to an SD card. It would be best to upgrade to a newer device with at least 64GB.

If you MUST continue using that device, you'll have to enable developer options to be able to move apps over.
If you haven't already, go to Settings>About>Software Info then tap on the Build Number 7 times. Go back to Settings and you'll see Developer Options on the bottom. In there you should find Force Allow Apps On External. Then you'll have to go app by app, in settings, under storage and select to move them to your SD card.

beware if you do this, data on your apps might be reset/deleted as this was the case for me when I found out the hard way.
