No Attach File Option for Messages

1.  In the default Messages app (for text messaging), the option to attach a file such as a PDF is no longer an available option.  Even when I try to use the Share option for a specific document (other than an image, video, audio, location, etc)

2.  the option to share it via Messages is missing.

I just went through an update for Adroid 13, One UI version 5.0

I'm not looking for alternatives method to sending file attachments. I want to use the default Messenger app for SMS/MMS to send PDF files among other file-types.  I used to have this ability but now the option to choose documents from the file folder is missing.  I'd like to get that option back. Please help if you know how to fix this.

Yep, you certainly do have it just like everyone else who has it and just as I had it previously.  Unfortunately, the fact that you have it doesn't really help me.  I need to know how to get it back, but thank you for sharing.

Try and make sure you give permissions to my files.

In the Messages setting, there are no permissions for My Files. In the My Files settings there are no Permissions for Messages. Oddly I can't find the Messages app in Samsung Store or Google Play so I can't even check to see if it needs updating.

Permission for My Files not messages. To check if a Samsung app needs updating just go into the app and settings then about "app name" it'll check for updates. I believe there is an option in phone settings to auto check and update on wifi.

Nope. Like I mentioned previously : No such permission can be found for My Files or Messages.
