Hello, I own a Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017), and I'm having trouble formatting a 64GB MicroSD card as internal storage. I've tried searching for an option to format it but can't find it. The only thing that pops up when I insert it is that I can transfer files to it. Is my sd card compatible or is there any other way to format it?  My android version is 9.0.

If you able to transfer files to it than its already formatted correctly for your phone to read. Your internal storage is attached internally to your phone's motherboard, and there is no way of easily upgrading it. A sd card is just used to store files, so you can free up space on your internal storage by transferring them to the sd card.

Sd cards are also more likely to lose data so be careful on what files you store on them and if possible backup any important data on a computer or online cloud service. And I would recommend using a good quality sd card made by well known manufacturers.
