Samsung A71 4G (2020)

Title says it all, suddenly my display dropped to around 1fps (maybe even less than) permanently, even when the phone is off (you can see it when the charging animation shows).

It was running Android 12, then I tried upgrading to 13 see if it would help, did not, then I did a factory reset to zero, wiped it, and still the same problem persists, even via screen mirroring cable, the output to pc is also the same. It evens runs at 2fps in safe mode??? I recorded video with the camera and took it to my laptop via cable, and it says fps is 2.45. Which seems to be matching the screen.

Audio doesn't lag when I play youtube and music or any voice notes. Cameras are running at 2.45fps so no video calling. I can take calls, just takes time for phone to recognize the answer tap/swipe.

Any ideas what's going on? I've never seen anything like this, nor any issue persist after a factory reset.

Wow, I have never heard of this either. How odd! The best thing I can think of would be to reflash the device back to the base OS. This can be accomplished at a Samsung authorized service center, like uBreakiFix or Best Buy's Geeksquad. They usually do free evaluations, and they might actually find the root cause of this anomaly during their investigation.

Thanks, it seems no one has encountered this before. I can try re-flashing to base OS , I believe android 10. I have no expectations at this point because it seems like a hardware gpu probelm.

Disappointed, hoped this phone would last a few years.

It could very well be a hardware issue, you're right. I didn't want to be the bearer of bad news. Let me know if you notice any change with the reflash.
