Recent Album in gallery on my new A23

Why are there duplicate album called recent of all my photos on my Galaxy A23. It is so unnecessary & is affecting the storage in my phone. Samsung stop adding these things.. they are a waste of necessary space. I may switch to Google instead.. please help!

Hey there! Go to the Gallery app's Settings page and select About Gallery. Tap version the number below "Gallery" text until you see "Gallery Labs is enabled" appear at the bottom of the screen. Head back to the Settings page and select the new Gallery Labs option now available. You will be able to disable the toggle "Show virtual albums" like Recent and Favorites! There are some more settings you might want to check out too! 😀

Thank you, but Sorry, did not work. Nothing came up. All I could do was uninstall the update & then hide it from view on show album page.

Gallery Labs would not activate?

No it just shows version update

If you can't get into Gallery Labs, you won't be able to turn these albums off. 😢 What is the version number of your Gallery app?

This should be working since it's the same version I have. Are you able to take a screenshot of the message you get after tapping the "Version 14.5.01.2" text over and over?

Please refer to these screenshots. You have to tap Version over and over until it activates. Make sure you close the gallery completely and then reopen after making the changes in Labs.

In the second photo, there is an option to "merge albums."
Select that and it should resolve the issue.
