Retrieve older texts after phone upgrade

I got a new android a month ago and was able to transfer everything but I can't access any texts prior to that date.

When you transferred all your old phone info to your new phone it should have restored all your text messages, did you use the Samsung smart switch application to transfer the data

Did you check the cloud to see if they may have saved. If not try smart switch and see if they will tranfer over.
