I keep getting notifications for emails from 2017 and it's really annoying. I did not even have a Samsung phone in 2017 (this is my first and last). Most of these notifications are from people who have died and I'm constantly bombarded with notifications for voice mails from them from 5 years ago. How do I stop this?

Just another reason for me to hate this phone (worst Android phone in my 12 years of having android phones). I'm stuck with it for 2 years and hate the voicemail program that Samsung makes you use. I've tried using others but call forwarding is evidently disabled on the Samsung galaxy A53. I'm trying to at least make this phone workable.

My phone is unlocked. I use (Google) Project Fi as a carrier.

Phone has ZERO to do with this issue

Maybe you have a phone number that someone previously had (?)

This has been my phone number since 2010.
The issue is with the app that I'm forced to use with this phone.
These are my voicemails from 5 years ago. No matter how many times I clear the notifications when this pops up, the app notifies me again.

So what I'd do is tap that Clear button at lower right ( in screenshot), then

open the Settings

Tap Apps

Tap Visual Voicemail

Tap Force Stop

Tap on Storage
... tap Clear Cache
... tap Clear Data

A parting shot ... have you acknowledged those Notifications... if they aren't acknowledged, they will typically resurface

down in the updates is a workaround for S series, which may follow for As.
