Commemorates different achievements, accomplishments, milestones, etc. As far as I know, it doesn't unlock any functions it features like how some might think.
They are given out based on how often a member provides accepted solutions to problems/questions posed by other community members. The more issues resolved the more badges one receives and the higher the badge level.
