When charging phone in car, drains battery

Sometimes when I charge my phone in the car, it doesn't charge when I am using it. And when it reaches to 0% it will turn off.

AND THE CHARGING IS SUPER SLOW!

If this only happens in your car, it seems like this a problem with your car's charger/port/cable, rather than an issue with the phone.

It's not charging the phone if it's draining your phone battery. Try to change the wire and see from there, it could be faulty.

The car's usb port may not be delivering enough power ro charge the phone. You should use the 12 volt plug (used to hold the cigarette lighter. The port is still there even though cars no longer come with lighters). You will need an adapter (Best Buy) that plugs into the car. The adapter has one or several usb ports that you can then plug your phone into.

It could be a combination of a slow charger in your car, battery intensive apps running eg. GPS maps, and depending on your environment if your car is hot can cause your phone to completely stop charging no matter how fast the charger your using is.

I know from experience in a hot climate that charging my phone in the car is a losing battle running android auto in a hot car and charging won't charge after a few minutes. And most cars don't have vents to cool your phone where it sits unless you have a vent mount.
