mitoooooo can I ask what you mean by is there a ticket number? Do you mean to ask if we have escalated this to someone higher? Or?

Re: Galaxy Tab S2 drains battery after recent update

I would just like to point out the bad customer service from Samsung. I replaced the battery to try and fix the issue. Mind you this is an original Samsung battery that I got from a reputable seller. Now they're telling me there's a problem with my tablet and I need to pay to get it repaired. All this happened after the update but they won't patch it. Theyre blaming the device. Patch the update and I'm sure all these tablets will start working properly again.

Cole,

I understand you already esalated this to the tab s2 development team (or the appropriate team).   Moreover, you wrote that you don't have any information regarding upcoming updates. You also wrote about being sure they're working on a fix.

There appears to be a great disconnect between support  and development/R&D.

By support I mean the 1st tier support available through email and phone within the Members and Samsung+ apps.

Ticket or case numberS are important to keep track of the development or investigation of an issue.

The Samsung Plus app development team uses ZenDesk and their cases are assigned ticket #s.

We are having this problem, too. Abysmal battery life after nougat update. Samsung absolutely does not care and will do nothing about it. The support people here can do nothing, they are hoping that we will just give up and go away. Sadly they are probably correct. I recently bought an essential phone, now there is a company that cares about it's users and actually tries to fix problems with their products. Never again Samsung

Re: Galaxy Tab S2 drains battery after recent update

Is it possible that the battery is draining so fast that it drains quicker than it charges? My Tab S2 9.7 can take two or three days to fully charge. Or is this a different problem and not related to Nougat?

Are you using the original charging cord and adapter?

folks,

we have to isolate the problem.

during or after a drain event, what do you see under settings/device maintenance/battery/battery usage?

the rogue app could be listed there.

you could also use an app called Simple System Monitor, available at the google PlayStore.

this app provides an x-ray or MRI of your device.    This app should allow you to pinpoint any unusual activity, such as temperature, high cpu utilization, memory, etc.

Re: Galaxy Tab S2 drains battery after recent update

Yes. Same charger and cable that has worked for a couple of years. Tablet just stopped charging.

It is plugged in and the indicator says that it is charging but in fact the battery is discharging (even when plugged in)

Is it possibly a problem with the port? Can it show that a charger is plugged but still not charge?

Even so, the battry is going down fast and I have switched every app off. I have also, as suggested elsewhere here, changed the 'keep wi-fi on' setting.
