Why are Samsung being very slow on the release of Oreo final? To all that should be getting it? I here excuses of not doing the release but not actually giving it to the consumers that own the devices. Android P is already in beta development, and none of Samsung devices have Oreo final yet, even after S8 variants done with beta. Come on slow Samsung. By the time you do offer the release, Android P will be named and still no Oreo. I have an S7 Edge and at this rate it will be July or later getting it. Oh and saying you do not have a time limit is no answer. If you say it is soon, that is not really an answer either. An answer is an actual time, and it actually happening. Anything else is an excuse not to release it. Not only am I in agreeing with this.

u guys know that at the end, the carrier has to agree and approve that the software can be released to the customers?
i'm pretty sure samsung wants to roll it out as soon as they modified and tested.
it's slow meeting slower...

Kind of. All new Android phones launching with Oreo+ have Project Treble enabled which adds a Hardware Abstraction Layer. This allows the OS to basically sit on top of the HAL allowing for faster updates. Devices upgrading to Oreo+ won't necessarily have it enabled though. It's up to vendor/manufacturer. From what I've read, the Galaxy S8/+ and Note 8's upgrade to Oreo will NOT have Project Treble enabled. Which I think is absolute BS!! Samsung is so slow with updates and this is the kind of support they give to their (up until recently) flagship devices?? The Galaxy Note 8 is almost almost a $1000 phone that is barely 6 months old and such an important feature to make updates more easier/streamlined is ignored. I'll be pis$ed if the Note 8 Oreo update doesn't have it. It's BS we have to wait so long for updates.

The point I am making is T-mobile Oreo update page says S7 Edge update to Oreo is complete, and has been for at least two months now, and it is Samsung we are waiting on it. Samsung is putting the update on a shelf and just waiting.
Top of Page says Manufacturer Development but on bottom says Phaze: Complete.
