I purchased a Samsung LPU9D 130" ultra short throw projector as well as a Samsung Ultra-Slim HW-801D soundbar + subwoofer. The goal was to be able to leverage the Dolby Atmos up-firing speakers of the LPU9D (which are good, but not sufficient given the size of my entertainment space and the lack of a subwoofer) along with the up-firing speakers from the HW-801D to generate a decent surround/spatial audio setup without the need for rear speakers. Both the LPU9D and 801D have Samsung Q-Symphony.

Whenever I try to set up Q-Symphony so that I can utilize both the LPU9D built audio + the HW-801D, I receive a message stating that Q-Symphony is only available if the LPU9D is in either "Front Ceiling" or "Rear Ceiling" modes. Is there any way around this? I do not know anyone who uses their ultra-short-throw projector in either of these modes--USTs are designed for "Front" mode use (i.e., putting an image on a wall/screen just 1-2' away). Otherwise, it seems like the Q-Symphony technology (and advertising of it) are useless to 99% of the people who purchase the UST. At a $6,000 product, it would be great if a firmware update could allow this--if there is not some type of work around already.

If there is a way to get this to work, I would really appreciate some guidance on it. I would be very, very grateful if Samsung could help. Alternatively, if there is a reason why it cannot be used in Front mode, that may be helpful as well.

Thank you for your time and consideration--I appreciate it.
