there’s a tiny white spot in the center of it. Theres nothing about dead pixels or black spots in the manual or trouble shooting guide so is it toast? Can it be fixed?

Yeah nothing will last forever anymore mine was like this for about 2-3 weeks and then got a large black bar across the screen.  I went to have it fixed a few months later after getting a new one and use it as a spare but decided it wasn't worth the effort to get the whole screen replaced when screens cost almost the same as a new TV now

Sorry but your screen is going bad and would need to be repaired.  I had the same dot appear on an older model a few years ago.

That’s what I thought. Nothing is built to last anymore. I’ll milk it until it’s unwatchable. I tend to just have the thing on in the background anyway while I work on something else. How long did it take before yours crapped out completely ?
