As more and more of us use our TVs to playback audio content - especially relaxation sounds or pure tones during sleep, it would be fantastic to have a button on the remote which turned the screen black and switched off the backlighting until either the button is pressed again or the TV is turned off and on again.
it would save power and potential screen burn/in from logos etc.
yes, my Samsung TV will essentially do this when it detects pure black screen, but add a logo or anything else and it stays backlit and illuminates the room.
